From Egypt, Griezmnn denies his departure rumors

CAIRO – 30 December 2017: Atletico Madrid’s French striker, Antoine Griezmann, confirmed that he is staying with his team Atletico Madrid, denying all rumors that linked him with a move to other teams in Europe.

“I love Atletico and I am so happy here so I will not leave,” Griezmann told the Egyptian press after the game.

Griezmann has been linked with a move to big European clubs especially to Atletico’s local rivals, Barcelona.

Griezmann appeared in the second half of Atletico’s friendly game against Al Ahly on Saturday at the “Match for Peace”. Atletico Madrid was 2-0 down but Griezmann’s teammate, Kevin Gameiro, scored three goals to secure his team victory.

“It was a wonderful match. Al Ahly’s players had an excellent game and their performance motivated us to show our abilities,” Griezmann said.


Griezmann added: “It was an important game to share a message of peace with the whole world from Egypt.”
