CAIRO – 25 December 2017: Atlético Madrid will welcome both new signings; the Spanish Vitolo and the Spanish-Brazilian striker Diego Costa in a training open to the public at the Wanda Metropolitan Stadium on December 31.
As explained by the club on its website, the two players signed last summer but could not be registered until January 1, 2018, due to the penalty imposed by FIFA on Atletico Madrid.
Diego Costa signed for Atlético Madrid after some tough negotiations with Chelsea, where the transfer agreement amounted to €65 million.
Since then, he is training with the "rojiblanco" team and counting the days to return to having minutes in official competition after his departure in 2014 to the Premier League with Chelsea.
Vitolo, meanwhile, arrived at Atletico Madrid in exchange for the payment of €36 million of his termination clause.
The red-and-white players, on holiday after the last game with a defeat against Espanyol in Cornellà-El Prat stadium, will return to work on Thursday, December 28 in the Wanda Sports City, before leaving for Egypt, where they will contest a friendly game against Al-Ahly in Alexandria on December 30.
