CAIRO – 24 December 2017 : Real Madrid’s manager, Zinedine Zidane, expressed his anger after Real Madrid lost 3-0 to Barcelona at home on Saturday.
“It's tough for us, but this is what happens in football. We made a mistake and defended poorly and at this level that's significant,” Zidane told the press after the game.
Luis Suarez opened the score for Barcelona at the 55th minute and nine minutes later Lionel Messi doubled the score through a penalty. Messi provided an assist to Alex Vidal to score the third goal seconds before the final whistle.
However, Zidane believes that his team will come back stronger. “We are not going to go crazy. It is a very difficult loss to take, but there's no need to change anything.”
Barcelona leads the Spanish League table with 45 points and they are 14 points ahead of Real Madrid who still have a postponed game against Leganes.
Zidane refused to rule his team out of the league title race. “This is not over. Now we must go on holiday and not think about this, we must enjoy family time and then come back. We will never give up.”
