Iniesta welcomes Coutinho in Barcelona

CAIRO – 21 December 2017: Barcelona's Andres Iniesta has welcomed Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho’s expected move to Camp Nou in the winter transfer market.

Barcelona is interested in signing Coutinho in January to consolidate its midfield and find a long-term replacement for Andres Iniesta, who has entered the final stage of his professional career.

Iniesta believes that Coutinho would be right for Barcelona because Coutinho has a great talent for controlling the ball and scoring goals.

“I see him as a great player with a great talent, he uses his legs well and scores a lot of goals,” Iniesta told media.

“He has the ability to connect the midfield and the attack. He's a player who has a glimpse of our style. It would be a great deal if he finally arrived here. I do not see him as my opponent,” Iniesta added.
