Al-Ahly invites Maradona to Atletico Madrid friendly

CAIRO - 21 December 2017: Al-Ahly has sent an official invitation to Argentinean football legend Diego Maradona to attend the friendly match against Atletico Madrid, which will be held under the name “Peace against Terrorism”.

Al-Ahly’s board is now waiting for the negotiations held by Turki Al Al-Sheikh, head of the Saudi General Sports Authority and head of the Union of Arab Football Associations, with Diego Maradona to attend the al-Ahly game against Atletico Madrid scheduled for December 30 at Borg El-Arab Stadium. The profits of the game will go to the families of victims and martyrs of terrorism in Egypt.

Al-Ahly also invited a large number of Arabic football stars, like Omar Abdel Rahman and Ismail Matar from United Arab Emirates and Taisir Al-Jassim, who is one of the finest Saudi football players.

Mahmoud Al-Khatib, head of al-Ahly SC, had spoken with Turki Al Al-Sheikh about the invitation of the Argentinean football legend to attend the match. Currently, al-Ahly officials are waiting for Maradona’s decision.

The “Peace against Terrorism” match will be held under the patronage of Turki Al Al-Sheikh, who has promised to arrange the friendly match with al–Ahly’s sponsor, Saudi Arabia’s Sela Trading Company.
