CAIRO – 20 December 2017: Real Madrid has entered the war against FC Barcelona to get the signing of Atletico Madrid's French striker, Antoine Griezmann.
Real Madrid was aware of the meeting that Griezmann`s representative had with Barcelona, and the team now wants to enter the bidding for a striker that Florentino Perez, president of Real Madrid, has long waited to sign.
Perez appreciates the personality of the French striker and, according to the French newspaper L'Equipe, wants to convince him to stay in Madrid, a city that, according to the French newspaper, admires Griezmann very much.
Antoine Griezmann, who has a contract with Atlético Madrid until 2022, has a contract cancellation clause of €100 million ($118 million), which makes him an interesting player for the great European clubs. Apart from Barcelona and Real Madrid, the two Manchester clubs, Manchester United and Manchester City, have been interested in signing him.
The newspaper L'Equipe mentioned that Real Madrid was previously interested in Griezmann some time ago. However, at Atlético Madrid, perhaps they would see with better eyes the march of Griezmann to Barcelona than to the eternal rival of the capital, as is the case with Real Madrid.
Earlier, Diego Simeone admitted he had no problems with Antoine Griezmann, the club's star, and said his striker would be better off with a club with a stronger offense than his.
Griezmann’s former agent, Eric Olhats, said he believes Griezmann’s days with his current club, Atletico Madrid, are numbered.
Anyway, the war is underway and we are entering a new chapter of the battles for the transfers between Barcelona and Real Ma
