CAIRO – 10 December 2017: Misr Al-Makasah succeeded to achieve an important 3-2 victory over Al-Ahly in the match held, on the New Suez Stadium, postponed from the second round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Al-Makasah raised their points to 18 points and climbed to the seventh place in the table, while Al-Ahly, with 25 points, remains in second place.
Hussein Al-Shahat, Paulen Fawafy and John Antwi scored for Al-Makasah, while Al-Ahly`s Abdallah El-Saeed and Walid Azarou scored for the Reds.
Al-Ahly began to pressure Al-Makasah from the first minute and missed a lot of chances while Al-Makasah did not appear to be dangerous in the first 15 minutes of the first half.
Al-Makasah`s Hussein Al-Shahat took the lead in the 24th minute when he sent a missile into Sherif Ekramy`s, Al-Ahly`s goalkeeper, net.
Al Ahli tried to return to the game and draw the tie, but the defenders of Al-Makasah were always on guard and Mahmoud Hamdi, Al-Makasah`s defender behind them.
In the 46th minute, Al Ahly`s Aballah El-Saeed leveled the score when Amin Omar, the match`s referee, gave a penalty for the Reds and ended the first half.
In the second half, the two teams continued attacking each other until Al-Makasah`s Paulen Voavy scored the second goal in the 65th minute from a fine shot.
The referee awarded Al-Makasah a penalty kick which scored by John Antwi in the 72nd minute to make it 3-1.
In the 74th minute, Al Ahly reduced the gap when they scored the second goal through Moroccan striker Walid Azarou.
This is the first loss for Al-Ahly since 46 games when they got defeated by Al-Masry 3-2 in the second stage of 2015/2016 season.
