CAIRO –10 December 2017: Everton foiled Mohamed Salah, Liverpool`s winger, goal after Wayne Rooney, Everton`s striker, leveled the score to make it 1-1 in the Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton on Sunday in the 16th round of the English Premier League.
Salah continued his amazing performance in the Premier League after he scored his 13th goal to be back on the top of the goal scorers in England above Harry Kane with 12 goals.
Jurgenn Klopp, Liverpool`s coach, started the game with Salah and Sadio Mane while Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho on the bench.
Everton closed all the ways to their goalkeeper but Salah managed to take the lead in the 42nd minute after he defeated two Everton defenders and then fired a left-footed shot from inside the box, which went to the corner of the keeper Pickford`s net.
In the second half, Liverpool continued wasting chances to double the score until the former Manchester United`s striker, Wayne Rooney, frustrated the Reds` fans when he scored the first goal for Everton from the penalty spot in the 77th minute.
Liverpool placed fourth with 30 points while Everton placed tenth with 19 points.
Salah reached his 19th goal with Liverpool in his 24th game with the Reds equaling his goals last season with AS Roma in 41 games when he scored 19 goals also in the Serie A (Italian League).
