CAIRO – 7 December 2017 : AS Roma announced on Thursday that the club renewed their contract with their Argentinean midfielder, Diego Perotti, until 2021.
“From the first game I have felt at home here, I have enjoyed some of the best moments of my career here, and I hope to experience many more. I’m very happy,” Perotti told Roma’s official website after signing his new contract.
Perotti, 29, joined Roma in 2016 from Italy’s Genoa on a one-year loan and the club bought the player at the end of the year after his amazing performance with them.
Roma’s Sporting Director, Ramón Rodríguez Verdejo, known as Monchi was happy with the deal. “The bond I have with Diego is special, I had the fortune of observing his first steps in European football in person at Sevilla, and now I have the pleasure of assisting him as he establishes himself as a valuable player at a great club like Roma,” Monchi said.
Monchi was Sevilla’s sporting director when Sevilla signed Perotti in 2007.
Perotti is a key player at Roma this season; he led his team to qualify to the round of 16 at UEFA Champions League on top of their group.
