Emad Moteb scoring the winning goal for Al Ahly – CAF official Twitter account
CAIRO – 6 December 2017: The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Wednesday celebrated the third anniversary of Al Ahly’s victory in the CAF Confederation Cup.
CAF wrote on its official account on Twitter that on this day in 2014, the Egyptian Al Ahly SC won their first CAF Confederation Cup, with a dramatic victory in the last few minutes of the game against Ivory Coast’s Séwé FC.
Al Ahly SC attacker Emad Moteb succeeded in scoring the winning goal, securing for his team the African Confederation Cup title. Moteb had scored the goal with a header after his teammate Walid Sulaiman passed him the ball in the 97th minute of the game.
With that goal Al Ahly became the first Egyptian team in history to win the Confederation Cup title.
