CAIRO – 30 November 2017: Former England manager, Roy Hodgson, is not worried about the outcome of the World Cup draw as he trusts the team’s ability to perform well in the upcoming tournament.

"I don't think it matters what draw England gets, what matters is they will go there with a good team that I believe is capable of doing extremely well.” Hodgson told press on Thursday.

Hodgson, 70, coached England in the UEFA EURO 2012 and 2016, and in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

When asked about a tough draw for England, he said, “I don't think Southgate or England will be bothered about that, they will have confidence about how the team is improving.”

Hodgson added, “They do not need to fear any of those scenarios or ideal groups. I would summarize my feelings that I am confident that no matter what group England finds them in, it really won't matter.”

Southgate started coaching the English National Team in September 2016; he directly qualified with the team to the 2018 World Cup after ending up on first place in their group.
