CAIRO – 30 November 2017: Football fans will follow the 2018 World Cup draw with much passion, and so will the players of the national teams which participate in the World Cup. The draw will be held in Moscow, Russia on Friday.

“I’m relaxed because, although some teams are stronger than others, all the groups will be balanced. I’m calm because I know that, when the time comes, the team will be ready,” Portugal national team captain Cristiano Ronaldo told FIFA on Wednesday.

Ronaldo, 32, participated with Portugal in three World Cup tournaments and he hopes to lift the World Cup trophy at least once before retirement.

Brazil’s biggest star, Neymar Jr Da Silva, will also follow the draw ceremony closely. He said, “We’re going to put some popcorn in the microwave and call family and friends. Everyone will have a keen eye on the television.”

Brazil won the World Cup in 2002 and Neymar hopes next year will be his turn to lift the World Cup trophy for Brazil.

Argentina national team captain Lionel Messi hopes to be free to watch the event. He said, “I’ll be following it, as long as we don’t have training or a match.”

Messi lost the 2014 World Cup final to Germany, but he hopes to lead his teammates to win the World Cup in 2018.
