CAIRO – 24 November 2017 : Tottenham Hotspurs manager, Mauricio Pochettino, was positively surprised about Danny Rose’s anger for not playing with the team in the North London Derby against Arsenal on Saturday, November 18.

“I like it when the player feels that emotion because it means they're interested in helping the team and they want to play,” Pochettino told press on Thursday.

Pochettino decided to start the derby against Arsenal with Ben Davies instead of Danny Rose, which was hard for Rose to accept. He told the press that he was angry for not participating in the game.

Pochettino was also surprised by the player’s statement, saying, “he never showed that feeling to me. That is why I was surprised. The day before, we had a conversation and he never showed me that he was angry. Of course, disappointed, but I understand that after, he was angry.”

Rose, 26, played in the Champions League game on Tuesday from the beginning against Borussia Dortmund. He was one of the best players on the pitch.

Pochettino accepted the Rose’s apology after the incident and refused to talk about the player’s future with the team. He said, “This is not the moment to talk about that, all players have contracts with us, involved in our project. You cannot guess what is going to happen in the future."
