CAIRO – 24 November 2017 : Arsenal lost 1-0 to FC Cologne on Thursday night at the UEFA Europa League in Cologne, Germany.

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, rested many vital players in this game. Arsenal missed Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Aaron Ramsey and Laurent Koscielny.
Arsenal entered the game in a 3-4-3 formation with Olivier Giroud, Danny Wellbeck and Jack Wilshere leading the attacking line while Mohamed El Neny and Francis Coquelin were in the midfield.

Both teams have created many chances to score the first goal, but they failed to end the first half 0-0.

In the second half, Cologne got a penalty from which Cologne’s striker, Sehrou Guirassy, succeeded to score the only goal in the game at 62nd minute.

Arsenal, previously qualified to the second round, stayed on top of the group with 12 points after 5 group stage games, while Cologne kept their chances to reach the second round as they share the second place with Crvena Zvezda at 6 points each, one point ahead of Bate Borisov.
