Griezmann: We’ll defeat Chelsea

CAIRO – 23 November 2017: Antoine Griezmann, Atlético Madrid's French striker, said after the 2-0 victory over Roma that they will "win" against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in their journey to qualification for the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

Atletico Madrid succeeded in securing their first victory in the Champions League this season after they defeated AS Roma 2-0 thanks to Antoine Griezmeann’s bicycle kick and Kevin Gameiro late goal.

"We will try until the end, we knew it was important to win against Roma to continue with options, personally, I am happy with my goal, and for helping my teammates," said Griezmann.

The French striker reiterated at beIN Sports that "now we have an important game against Chelsea, we will win and we will wait for the other results."

Chelsea, on the other match, defeated Qarabag FK 4-0 at Baki Olimpiya stadium in Azerbaijan to guarantee their qualification to the last 16 round, at least in the second place in their group stage.

Griezmann, who has broken a streak of eight games without seeing the net, said he gives his best every time he jumps on the field.

"I always try to give the best of myself, the ball did not go in but I tried to do my best, also in the national team, I have to keep trusting myself," reiterated the star of the capital team.

Chelsea is set to host Atletico Madrid at Stamford Bridge stadium in London on December 5, in the last match of the group stage of the Champions League. Atletico needs to win this game at the same time Roma loses to Qarabag in the other match that will be held at Olimpico stadium in Rome, Italy.
