The Pharaohs' descendants were ranked 30th in the monthly ranking on October.
Egypt came third in the African team, after Senegal and Tunisia.
The Senegalese national team has been ranked the 23rd and that is the highest they have been placed in their history so far. The Tunisian team has been ranked 27th.
The Egyptian team managed to qualify for the World Cup after winning against Congo 2-1, in the fifth round of the African qualifiers.
The Egyptian team qualified after a 28-year absence from the World Cup; having last played in the 1990 edition of Italy.
The current version of the FIFA rankings will not be effective during the draw of the 2018 World Cup on December 1. FIFA will rely on the last version of the rankings, which were released October 16 during the draw.
