Al-Hadary sidelined from Thursday’s match

CAIRO – 23 February 2017: Veteran goalie Essam El-Hadary has been barred from the Wadi Degla Club’s upcoming match against Al-Ahly on Thursday for misconduct during Wednesday’s squad training.

El-Hadary, who received praise for his performance with the Egyptian national team during the African Cup of Nations held in Gabon, was fined and is facing an investigation for reportedly slapping his team’s reserve goalkeeper,

citing the team’s manager Said Metwally.

Metwally said the coaching staff may consider pulling El-Hadary from the team’s lineup for the remainder of the season.
