CAIRO – 22 November 2017: Al-Ahly’s goalkeeping coach, Tariq Sulaiman, praised Mohamed Al-Shenawy for his significant role in the club’s last Egyptian Premier League match against Ismaily.
Sulaiman spoke about the turning point for his team in the match against Ismaily, which was held on Monday evening and ended in victory for the Red Devils with a score of 2-0.
"Mohamed Al-Shenawy’s save in the middle of the second half was the most important turning point in the game," the coach said in a press statement, according to Super Kora. "He managed to prevent a critical goal from Ismaily, then Al-Ahly succeeded in scoring two goals after that,” he added.
Sulaiman likened Shenawy's arm stretch to a peacock, as he managed to cover the largest possible area of the goal, preventing the ball from entering Al-Ahly’s net.
Sulaiman has told Sherif Ekramy, another of Al-Ahly’s goalkeepers, that he will be on the bench for the next game against Al-Dakhleya, which is scheduled to be played at 8 p.m. on Friday in the Cairo International Stadium.
