CAIRO – 15 November 2017: Ali Darwich, chief of Cairo Stadium Authority, announced that the Egyptian national team will return to their friendly matches at Cairo International Stadium.
Speaking to the “Mala’ab 909” radio program, Darwich said, “I did not receive any official letter, but the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) will send me the full schedule of the games.”
“All the next national team games will be held at Cairo Stadium, including Niger’s game in the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers in March 2018,” he stated.
It is expected that the 2018 World Cup draw will be held on December 2,and then the EFA will schedule the Egyptian national team’s friendly preparation games.
“We wish that all the fans can attend their national team games at Cairo Stadium—everything is stable now,” Darwich added.
The Egyptian security authorities have also authorized Al-Ahly and Zamalek to play their matches at Cairo International Stadium instead of Petrosport and Al Salam stadiums.
However, the decision does not include Al-Ahly & Zamalek home games against Al-Masry club.
