CAIRO – 13 November 2017: Welsh national team manager Chris Coleman revealed on Monday that he wants Welsh winger Gareth Bale to stay at Real Madrid.

"If I'm going to be the Welsh manager for two more years, or four more years, I'd like to see him stay at Real Madrid,” Coleman told press on Monday.

Bale, 28, joined Real Madrid in 2013 from English club Tottenham Hotspurs for a world record transfer fee of €100 million ($117 million), according to Daily Telegraph.

Coleman revealed the reasons behind his desire, saying, “He has picked up a lot of injuries, but generally the Premier League is much tougher than La Liga in terms of the physicality. It's very tough in the Premier League.”

Bale was linked to the Premier League as he failed to shine in the Spanish League and missed about half of Madrid’s game in the last season for injuries.

Bale’s injury forced him to miss the end stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, and Wales failed to qualify to the World Cup without him.
