CAIRO – 13 November 2017: The Senegalese Football Federation has decided to return Sadio Mane to Liverpool after complaining of his hamstrings.
The Senegalese federation statement said Mane had felt a renewed injury, and after discussions between Senegal’s coaching and medical staffs, they decided to return the player to his club.
Mane had recently returned to Liverpool after recovering from injury, making two assists for Mohammed Salah in the big win over West Ham 4-1 in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old made two assists for Senegal to help them beat South Africa to qualify for the World Cup after a 16-year absence.
Senegal is set to play a World Cup qualifier against South Africa on Tuesday, which FIFA has decided to return after the sporting court confirmed the decision to suspend the Ghanaian referee for a lifetime.
Mane competes with Salah for the CAF Africa Player of the Year award and the BBC African player of the year.
