CAIRO – 9 November 2017: During the closing ceremony of the World Youth Forum held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt Today met Sameh Ramadan, the Egyptian Hockey player.
Ramadan praised the World Youth Forum and said, “I am very proud and can’t wait for next year’s event.”
He added; “The team is actively practicing in locations in Cairo, New Jersey, and Montreal.”
Sameh stated that they currently have the annual Egyptian Ramadan Cup as the main ice hockey tournament for Egyptian club teams. This championship is organized by the Administration of Anubis hockey club.
He also added; “Egypt does not currently have an official Ice Hockey Federation or National Ice Hockey Team. We are Egyptians playing a sport we love and looking to have it grow.”
Ramadan is on the Egypt Ice Hockey Board (Future Egyptian Ice Hockey Federation Board), and he is an assistant captain for the Egyptian Pharaohs and Cairo Anubis (Club) Teams. He has a dual nationality (American-Egyptian) and he currently lives in New Jersey, USA.
