CAIRO –4 November 2017: Al Ahly lost 1-0 to Morocco's Wydad Casablanca on Saturday, missing the African Champions League title.

Wydad was crowned the Champions League for the second time in his history after the 1992 championship, winning 2-1.

The Red Team missed the chance to win the title for the first time since 2006.

In the 69th minute, Ben Charqi beats El-Sulaya down the right hand side and his deflected cross is headed by Walid El-Karti to announce the first goal in the match for Wydad.

El-Badry failed to be the second Egyptian coach to win the Champions League twice. The only one who did so was Mahmoud El-Gohary, who won the champions League with Al-Ahly in 1982 and Zamalek in 1993.

The most capped with the Egyptian teams is Portugal's Manuel Jose, who won the tournament 4 times.
