Lovren is Player of the Month with Salah: Liverpool

CAIRO – 2 November 2017: Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has been chosen the best player in October with Mohamed Salah.

The Croatian won 33% of the votes, as did Salah.

The Reds’ fans backed the defender after it was revealed that he had received a death threat from a fan following the 4-1 loss to Tottenham in the league. The fans, through social media, called for a vote for Lovren as a form of support.

The official website of Liverpool closed the voting for the Player of the Month on Thursday.

Lovren published a photo with the threats on his Instagram account on Monday, saying, “Horrible what kind of people we have.”

Salah won the award for August and September after his remarkable achievement since joining Liverpool.

Salah has starred in the English club since joining the season, scoring 10 goals in 16 matches and making four assists.
