CAIRO – 2 November 2017 : Former Real Madrid midfielder Steve McManaman advised Real Madrid President Florentino Perez not to sign Tottenham Hotspurs striker Harry Kane.
“I would prefer to sign a young boy like Mbappe. It would be very difficult to sign Kane. The price of footballers today is crazy; you would need €200 million ($232 million)," McManaman told Marca on Wednesday.
Kane is one of the best players in the Premier League. He had a great season with Tottenham, scoring eight goals in the Premier League and five goals in the Champions League.
McManaman also advised Kane to stay with his club, Tottenham. He said, “Kane can stay in London, because he is happy and settled with his family.”
McManaman praised Tottenham under their manager Mauricio Pochettino, saying, “They always try to play very attractive football.”
McManaman played four years at Real Madrid from 1999 to 2003, winning two Spanish League titles and two Champions League titles with the club.
