CAIRO – 25 October 2017: Smouha’s manager, Farag Amer, has revealed that Mohamed Hamdy Zaki has been called up to Egypt’s squad for the Ghana match.

Hector Cuper has included 16 foreign-based players in the national team’s upcoming match against Ghana in the last round of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers. Cuper is yet to announce the list of local-based players.

Egypt will play an international friendly game with UAE on November 9 before facing Ghana three days later.

Zaki has scored two goals in six appearances in the Egyptian Premier League this season.

The 25-year-old, who joined Smouha on a three-year deal from Al-Ahly, had played 11 games with the U-20 national team and participated in Egypt’s campaign in the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Egypt has qualified to the World Cup for the first time in 28 years after beating Congo 2-1 earlier this month.
