Sadio Mane missed Manchester United clash on Saturday for injury, Reuters
CAIRO – 19 October 2017: Senegal national team manager Aliou Cissé announced on Wednesday that Liverpool winger Sadio Mane will be on the Senegal national team squad that faces South Africa in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
“In my mind, there's no doubt he will be with us for the double header against South Africa and that he will be 100 percent fit," Cisse told Senegalese press on Wednesday.
Mane was injured during Senegal’s 2-0 victory against Cape Verde, and he was substituted 3 minutes before the final whistle. Mane’s injury is expected to rule him out for six weeks.
Cisse added, “Until now, he has been doing some individual training - running in straight lines - but beginning next week, he is going to train harder and start working with the ball."
Senegal tops Group D in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers with eight points, two points ahead of Burkina Faso and Cape Verde, who share the second place, while South Africa has four points to stay in the bottom.
