Al Hilal to meet Orawa Red in the final, Egypt Today
CAIRO – 18 October 2017: The Japanese club, Urawa Red Diamonds, defeated the Chinese Shanghai SIPG (1-0) in the AFC Champions League semi-finals’ second leg. Urawa secured a place in the finals against the previously qualified Al-Hilal from Saudi Arabia.
In their match against Shanghai SIPG, Urawa started the game well in the presence of their fans and it did not take the Japanese too long to score the first goal with their Brazilian striker, Rafael da Silva.
Shanghai tried to equalize the score, but all attempts from Oscar dos Santos and Givanildo Vieira, also known as Hulk, were aborted by Urawa's goalkeeper.
Urawa will meet Al-Hilal in the finals, and they are looking to win the title for the second time after obtaining it for the first time in 2007. On the other hand, Al-Hilal aims to win the title for the third time as they won it in 1991 and 2000.
The first leg of the AFC Champions League finals is scheduled to take place on November 18 in Saudi Arabia, and the second leg will be on November 25 in Japan.
