CAIRO – 17 October 2017: The NBA kicks off the new 2017-2018 season October 17, with Golden State Warriors as the current champions. The question everyone is asking is if any team in the American League will be able to face the current champions, the Golden State Warriors?

The Cleveland Cavaliers, Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder and Boston Celtics have been reinforced with elite players to try to overthrow the current champions.

The Golden State Warriors are looking for their third title in the last four years, and it does not seem that any of the teams that have been strengthened this summer, especially the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder in the West, and the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics in the East, can face the potential and versatility of the Warriors.

They maintained the structure of last year, reaffirming their stars with millionaire contracts, and that does not seem to stop their desire to continue adding titles.

The 82 regular-season games will mark the way for the play-offs, but there seems no doubt that the Warriors, with their starring pair (Stephen Curry-Kevin Durant), will be back in the Western finals, and possibly fighting for the title in the Eastern Conference.

Everything seems to indicate that they will be the same as last year, with the Celtics and Cavaliers both remodeled, but without the options to face the champions.

Kevin Durant's arrival to the Warriors last year meant a clear imbalance in the League and the fierce Western Conference.

In the West, Oklahoma is portrayed as the “big threat” with a first-rate trio. The Most Valuable Player (MVP) award-winner Russell Westbrook will get extra help from newcomers Paul George (ex-Indiana) and Carmelo Anthony (New York).

Also in the West, the Rockets supported James Harden with Chris Paul to revive the team.

Minnesota has also taken the lead with trio Karl Anthony Towns, Jimmy Butler and Jeff Teague, but they need a little more time to become a serious contender.

In the East, they have not changed things too much, although some of the determining players have made opposite ways.

LeBron James wants to return to the finals with the Cleveland Cavaliers, which could be the last attempt of their star to win another ring for Ohio before going to the Lakers, as rumored.

They have added Isaiah Thomas from the Boston Celtics, although his hip injury will not allow him to debut, possibly until December.

With Kevin Love, Tristan Johnson or JR Smith from the bench, the Cavaliers are a fearsome team in the East. However, they may not have enough weapons.

While the Boston Celtics have lost Isaiah Thomas on their way to their big rival, they have acquired two high-profile pieces: Kyrie Irving, who wants to lead the “Greens” after LeBron's guardianship ends, and Gordon Hayward, the star of Utah Jazz.
