CAIRO –17 October 2017: Jermaine Jenas thinks that Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp should be starting with Adam Lallana when he is fully recovered instead of Mohamed Salah.
The Egypt international has been a standout player for Liverpool this season following a summer move from Roma. He has scored 6 goals and registered 2 assists in his first 12 games with the Merseyside club.
“If I think about Liverpool’s best team, he’s in it. I’d leave Salah out,” Jenas told BBC Radio 5 Live.
Lallana was able to help his team return to the Champions League after scoring nine goals and making eight assists in the Premier League last season.
“There were games where Lallana dragged Liverpool through games and got important points. They saw their best of Adam Lallana last year. The only problem is he doesn’t stay fit long enough,” he added.
Liverpool currently sits sixth in the league table with 13 points, and their next game will be against NK Maribor in the Champions League on Tuesday.
