Federer wins Shanghai Rolex Masters

15 October 2017:Roger Federer, ranked second in the world, won the Shanghai Rolex Masters title, after beating world No.1 Rafael Nadal in a confident (6-4),(6-3) win under the roof of the Qi Zhong Tennis Center on Sunday.

Federer raised his titles this year to six after winning the Australian Open, BNP Paribas Open, Miami Open, Halle Open, Wimbledon and Shanghai Rolex Masters.

This is the second time that Federer has won the Shanghai Masters title after beating Gilles Simon in 2014. He was the oldest champion lift the trophy back in 2014 and has maintained that record.

Nadal has never won this tournament and this is the second he has lost in the final. In 2009 Nikolay Davydenko clinched the title after defeating Nadal.

Federer has now won 94 career titles.
