CAIRO – 10 October 2017: Martin Jol, former Al-Ahly head coach, congratulated the Egyptian national team for qualifying to the 2018 World Cup.
Martin Jol posted on his facebook page a few photos of the Egyptians celebrating the victory after the match with the comment, "Congratulations with qualification for Worldcup in Russia. 💪 👍🏻 🌹
Egypt qualified to the World Cup finals for the first time in 28 years after the national football team scored a 2-1 victory over Congo on Sunday evening at the Borg El Arab stadium.
Martin Jol was appointed as Al-Ahly`s head coach on February 2016. He ruled the team in 29 games, managed to win 18 games and lost 5 games.
The 61-year-old announced he had left Al-Ahly on August 2016 after he lived in Egypt for 6 months. The Dutch won the Egyptian Premier League with Al Ahly in 2016 after he won the Dutch Cup with Ajax Amsterdam in 2010.
