CAIRO – 3 October 2017: Football legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic celebrates his 36th birthday on Tuesday, October 3. The Swede has put his name in game history after a staggering career in football.

Zlatan started playing football in his hometown, Malmo, and he got promoted through the club youth rankings till he turned 18 and got promoted to the first team.

Ibrahimovic needed only two years to attract big clubs’ eyes, and Ajax Amsterdam were ready to pay €8.7 million ($10.22M) to sign the Swedish wonder kid, and in Netherlands his story started.

Ibrahimovic wore the Ajax jersey for three years, leading his club to win many titles. He won the Dutch League twice in 2002 and 2004. Zlatan felt that he is ready for a more competitive league, so he signed for Italian giants Juventus in 2004.

Juventus was the best place for Zlatan to improve. He experienced playing alongside great players like Alessandro Del Piero and Pavel Nedved. He had great two years there, winning the title twice before the Calciopoli scandal that stripped Juventus from their two titles, and the club went to the second division, so Zlatan decided to leave in 2006 to Milano to play for Internazionale.

In Internazionale, Zlatan and his team enjoyed dominating Italian football and they won three consecutive Italian Leagues in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Zlatan achieved his childhood dream in 2009 when he signed for Barcelona. He had great expectations, but Zlatan couldn’t be the shadow of Barcelona magician Lionel Messi, so he left after one year to join the red side of Milano, AC Milan.

He played two years with AC Milan, winning the Italian League in 2011, but Paris Saint Germain convinced the player with their new project, so he left Italy to Paris.

Zlatan made history in his four years in Paris, winning the French League four times in a row in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Zlatan found that he doesn’t have a lot in football, so he decided to experience playing in the Premier League with Manchester United. He signed a one year contract, but his 28 goals with the club and his participation in winning three titles for MAN Utd made them extend his contract for another year.

Zlatan is recovering from a serious knee injury, and every football fan awaits Zlatan’s return to enjoy his last days in football.
