CAIRO – 3 October 2017: Egyptian Football Association president Hany Abo Rida supported Egypt’s national team manager Hector Cuper against criticism from Egyptian media.
“Cuper will stay with the national team, we had a contract and we are committed to it,” Abo Rida told TV Channel ON Sport on Monday.
Abo Rida added “Cuper led the national team to the Africa Cup of Nations final and we are so hopeful for qualifying to the World Cup.”
Abo Rida spoke about Egypt’s clash against Congo, saying “Egyptian fans hope to qualify to the World Cup and they trust the national team, I always deliver this feeling to the players and the coach.”
Egypt faces Congo on Sunday October 8h at the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers. This game could be the qualifying game if Egypt wins and Uganda loses to Ghana.
Egypt tops Group E at the 2018 World Cup qualifiers with nine points. Uganda is second with seven points while Ghana occupies third with five points. Congo sits at the bottom of the group with one point.
