CAIRO – 3October 2017: England national team goalkeeper Joe Hart spoke about his career with the England national team ahead of England’s game against Slovenia on Thursday, October 5.
“It was something I didn't need to dream about, because I didn't think it was possible,” Hart told Sky Sports.
Hart, 30 years old, added, “I want to amass as many cups as I can. I want to be the goalkeeper who plays for England, but I would swap all of that for a trophy or playing an important role in a good summer for the nation. That's my only intention when I play for England."
Hart started playing for the English national team in 2008 against Trindad and Tobago under the Italian coach Fabio Capello.
Hart played 73 games and participated with the national team in UEFA EURO 2012, UEFA EURO 2016, World Cup 2010 and World Cup 2014.
England manager Gareth Southgate chose Hart for the Slovenia clash at the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, along with three other goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford, Jack Butland and Fraser Forster.
