Hector Cuper - Egypt Today
CAIRO – 2 October 2017: Egyptian national team manager, Hector Cuper, announced on Monday Egypt’s squad for the game against Congo at the 2018 World Cup qualifiers on Sunday.
Cuper added three new players to the squad; Moamen Zakaria from Al Ahly, Mohamed Fathi from Ismailya, and Hossam Hassan from Smouha to replace the injured players; in addition to, Mahmoud Abdelmonem known as Kahraba, and Abdullah Said.
Cuper’s chosen squad consists of Essam El Hadary, Ahmed El Shenawi, Sherif Ekrami, Ahmed Fathi, Saad Samir, Ramy Rabia, Aly Gabr, Mohamed Abd El Shafi, Ahmed El Mohamady, Karim Hafez, Omar Gaber, Ahmed Hegazi, Hossam Ashour, Saleh Gomaa, Tarek Hamed, Mostafa Fathi, Mohamed El Neny, Mohamed Salah, Ramadan Sobhi, Sam Morsi, Moamen Zakaria, Mohamed Fathi, Amr Gamal, Ahmed Hassan known as Koka, Hossam Hassan and Mahmoud Hassan known as Trezeguet.
Egypt tops Group E at 2018 World Cup qualifiers with nine points and is two points away from second place team Uganda. Ghana is third with five points while Congo sits at the bottom with one point.
