Hector Cuper - Egypt Today
CAIRO – 2 October 2017: Egyptian national team manager, Hector Cuper, refused to identify the better player between Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona, during a press conference on Monday. Instead, Cuper responded by saying Egypt was better than both players.
Cuper also spoke about Egyptian Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah saying, “he is playing in a highly competitive league, and that is why he faced a lot of troubles in Sunday’s game.”
Liverpool ended their game against Newcastle with a 1-1 draw and the Egyptian winger was out of his form in the game.
Cuper added, “I will meet with the player when he arrives. He is a great player and we will do our best to make him ready for the Congo clash.”
Salah is an important player in Cuper’s strategy and Cuper builds his team around his winger.
Cuper spoke about the expected formation against Congo, saying, “I may start the game with two strikers especially with the absence of many important players due to injury.”
Egypt faces Congo on October 8 at Borg El Arab Stadium for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
