CAIRO – 30 September 2017:

The Egyptian Kung Fu team starts its participation in the 14th World Kung Fu Championship on Friday in Kazan, Russia.

In the Sanda competition, Ayman Galal, 70 kg for men, is set to meet the Argentinean champion in the 32nd round, while Shorouk Zaki, 65 kg for women, is set to meet the Hong Kong champion in the quarter-final.

Sanda (Chinese kickboxing) is considered a Chinese self-defense system and combat sport.

The Egyptian delegation includes twelve players:

Sanda team: Islam Naguib, Ayman Galal, Ashraf Abdel Gawad, Omar Mamdouh, Moataz Rady, Walaa Abdel Razek, Shorouk Ahmed Zaki and Heba Abdel Kader Saleh.
Martial arts team: Ahmed Hassan Abdel Salam, Amr Ibrahim Abdel Rehim, Hager Mohamed El Sayed and Abdel Rahman Ehab Kheir El Din.

The national team is headed by Hussein Abdel Mawgod, the Sanda coach, and Khallaf, the martial arts coach.

Sherif Mostafa, chief of the Egyptian & African Association for Wushu Kung Fu, is leading the delegation that heads to Russia on Monday, September 25.

Egypt won the 6th African Wushu Kung Fu Championship and ranked first in the Wushu Sanda and Taolu martial arts styles at the African Championship held in Benin on July 19 to July 24.
