CAIRO – 30September 2017:The Spanish court has called Manchester United’s manager and former Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho, to an official investigation next November 3.
The Public Prosecutor’s office has filed a complaint in which he accused him of defrauding 3.3 million euros.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, Mourinho would have committed two crimes against the Public Treasury in relation to Personal Income Tax (IRPF) in 2011 and 2012, when he was training Real Madrid. The amount defrauded amounts to 3,304,670 euros (1,611,537 euros in 2011 and 1,693,133 euros in 2012).
Mourinho signed a work contract with Real Madrid on March 31, 2010, and transferred his residence to Madrid, reason for which he acquired the status of fiscal resident in Spain.
However, “with a view to obtaining an unlawful benefit," he filed his 2011 and 2012 tax returns in a timely manner without declaring his income from the assignment of his image rights.
