CAIRO – 30September 2017:Hull City, Middlesbrough and Sunderland got relegated from the Premier League last season and the clubs’ fans hoped that they will be able to return again to the Premier League, but the clubs’ run in the Championship is disappointing.

The North East giants, Sunderland, are suffering in the Championship and their fans’ dreams to return to the Premier League turned into a nightmare after the club won only one game out of 10. Sunderland lost six games and ended another three with a draw to stay with six points at the 23th place from 24.

The club came in an uncomfortable position, as they are occupying one of the spots to relegate to League One.

Hull City sold many of their big names to other clubs after relegation last season; Sam Clucas to Swansea City, Andrew Robertson to Liverpool, Ahmed Elmohamady to Aston Villa, Tom Huddlestone to Derby County and Harry Maguire to Leicester City.

The Club signings couldn’t help the team so far as they only achieved 9 points after two victories, and three games ended with a draw.

The club lost five games to achieve the 18th place.

Middlesbrough are in a better position comparing to the other two teams, as they won four games, lost three and ended three with a draw.

They are in the 9th place with 15 points, only 8 points away from the top of the table.

Many big teams are competing in the Championship to return to the Premier League and it will be hard for the three relegated clubs to return again if they don’t strengthen their squad to be able to compete in the Championship.
