Real Madrid loses to Real Betis in 5th round of LaLiga

CAIRO – 21 September 2017: Real Betis beat Real Madrid in the fifth round of LaLiga with a single goal at the deadly time on Wednesday in Santiago Bernabeu.

Antonio Sanabria scored the only goal in the 94th minute, bringing Betis in sixth place with nine points against Real Madrid’s seventh place with its eight points.

Real Madrid did not score for the first time in 512 days — since April 2016 — in 73 consecutive games.

Real Madrid failed to win their first three games in LaLiga for the third time in their history after the 69-70 and 95-96 seasons, when they finished the season in sixth place.

Despite the return of Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo from suspension, the team was not in its best form.
