CAIRO –19 September 2017: Paris Saint Germain players Neymar Jr. and Edinson Cavani were involved in a spat over taking a penalty during their 2-0 victory over Lyon, ESPN reported Tuesday.
The Brazilian wanted to take the penalty, but the Uruguayan refused and took the spot-kick, which was saved by Lyon’s goalkeeper. Neymar and Cavani kept apart in the PSG dressing room after this penalty-kick row.

Paris Saint Germain manager Unai Emery said, “I have told them to sort it out between themselves. The penalties are to be struck by a few players – one is Cavani and the other is Neymar," according to Goal.com
"Afterwards, we will arrange internally for the penalties that are coming in, because I think both are able to score them, and I want the two to alternate in this exercise,” Emery said.
Neymar has reportedly unfollowed Cavani on Instagram after this clash.
Everything escalated quickly, as Neymar has asked PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi for Cavani to be transferred.
The PSG president knows that if he does not resolve this row, the problem could escalate; and with Neymar being the most expensive signing in football history, he will have to handle this matter delicately.
On the other hand, Cavani is an established player on the team and also occupies a prominent place in the starting lineup.
Neymar wants Cavani to leave PSG sooner rather than later, and the future of the Uruguayan striker, who was highly sought after by Atletico Madrid earlier this year, is up for speculation.
