CAIRO - 17 September 2017: Al Ahly’s coach Hossam El-Badry refused to put the responsibility of the 2-2 draw against Tunisian club Esperance, on Ahly’s goalkeeper, Sherif Ekramy.
“I reject the criticism against Ekramy or any other player in my team, he is not responsible for the result alone,” Badry told Egypt Today on Sunday.
Ekramy failed to block what was a relatively easy shot from Esperance’s midfielder Ghailene Chaaleli, which resulted in a draw.
“We are all responsible for the result and mistakes can happen from any player, we have to forget what happened and start concentrating on the second leg in Tunisia,” Badry said.
On the other hand, Ahly’s assistant coach praised the Moroccan striker Walid Azaro saying, “he had a great performance and he can improve.”
Al Ahly hopes to achieve a better result when both teams meet again on Saturday, September 23, in Tunisia.
