Omar Gaber in the starting lineup against Chiasso

CAIRO –17 September 2017- Omar Gaber will be in the starting lineup with Basel against Chiasso on Sunday in the Swiss Cup competitions.

Omar Gaber took part in Basel's 2-0 win over FC Wettswil-Bonstetten in the August 13 match in the preliminary round of the Swiss Cup.

Omar Gaber participated throughout the 90 minutes in that match to score in his first official appearance with Basel this season, after he received many offers from various European clubs wishing to sign him during the last summer transfer period, most notably Brighton, Valencia and Bursaspor.

Basel’s administration rejected all offers for the Egyptian star, despite the absence of the player to participate in matches, due to the conviction of the head coach of the player’s capabilities.

Basel lost to Manchester United 3-0 on Tuesday, September 12 in the first round of the UEFA Champions League with the absence of Omar Gaber.
