Al Ahly vs Esperance in their last match in Egypt, File Photo from Super Kora
CAIRO – 16 September 2017: Al-Ahly club will host, on Saturday, the Tunisian side Esperance Sportive at Borg El Arab Stadium in the first leg of the quarter-finals of CAF African Champions League.
Al-Ahly is working to win the African title again after an absence of four years. Esperance Sportive is aiming to score against the Red Devils in Egypt to make their job back in Tunisia easy.
Al-Ahly and Esperance Sportive played 10 matches together. Al-Ahly won five direct matches; Esperance won two matches and three matches ended with a draw.
The last match between the two giants ended, in Tunisia, with a score 1-0 to Al-Ahly. They met on Saturday, June 28, 2017.
Al-Ahly previously received security approval for the presence of 20,000 spectators for the Esperance match. Al-Ahly officials have also decided to put 5,000 tickets to the guests.
Hossam El Badry, Al-Ahly`s coach, has chosen his 24-man squad that will meet Esperance Sportive. It is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Sherif Ekramy, Ahmed Adel Abdel Moneim, Mohamed El-Shenawy.
Defenders: Rami Rabia, Saad Samir, Mohamed Naguib, Ahmed Fathi, Mohamed Hany, Ali Maaloul, Hussein El-Sayed, Sabri Raheel.
Midfielders: Hesham Mohamed, Hossam Ashour, Amr El Sulaya, Saleh Gomaa, Walid Soliman, Abdallah El-Said, Momen Zakaria, Karim Nedved, Ahmed El-Sheikh, Ahmed Hamoudi.
Forwards: Emad Meteb, Junior Ajayi, Walid Azarou.
