Marcelo reveals his best

CAIRO - 15 September 2017 : Real Madrid left back Marcelo Da Silva chose on Thursday Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player he played with in his football career.

“I played with greats like Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Ruud van Nistelrooy, but because I've been training with him for a long time, giving him passes and celebrating goals, I'll say Cristiano,” Marcelo told the press during the signing of his new contract with the club.

Marcelo played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in Real Madrid since the Portugese joined the club in 2009. Together they won three Champions League titles and two Spanish League (La Liga) titles.

Marcelo, who joined Real Madrid in 2007, has signed a new contract with the club until 2022.

Asked about the toughest player he played against, Marcelo said “the most difficult to stop I think has been Neymar, with whom I play in the national team."

Marcelo faced Neymar Jr. many times as Neymar played four years in Real Madrid’s local rivals, Barcelona.
