CAIRO – 14 September 2017 : The EUROBASKET 2017 semifinals starts on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. Cairo local time (C.L.T) where the title holders, Spain will meet Slovenia at Erdem Arena in Istanbul.
Spain seeks to continue their dominance over European Basketball as the Spanish team won three of the last four European titles, while Slovenia hopes to reach the final for the first time in their history.
Spain depends on their veteran players like, Pau Gasol, Juan Navarro and Marc Gasol while the Slovenians depend on Goran Dragic, Luka Doncic and Edo Muric.
In the other semi final, Russia who last won the title in 2007 faces Serbia on Friday at the same time of the first semi final.
Russia qualified to the semi finals after beating Greece 74-69, while Serbia defeated Italy 83-67 on the quarter finals.
Four European countries, Finalnd, Israel, Greece and Turkey hosted the group stage of the competition, each country hosted a group, but Turkey hosted the knock-out stages.
