CAIRO - 14 September 2017: Manchester United former Captain, Roy Keane, criticized Liverpool defense after their poor performance in Liverpool 2-2 draw against Sevilla at UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

“It must drive the manager crazy as it is just schoolboy defending,” Keane told the Daily Mail after the game.

Liverpool gave up two goals to Sevilla due to defensive mistakes by Liverpool defenders; Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip.

Keane, who played 12 years for Manchester United, added, “Liverpool did all the hard stuff really well, in terms of creating chances, pace, power and quality going forward, but Liverpool cannot seem to do the easy things.”

Keane believes that Liverpool will not go far in the competition; he said, “Liverpool can forget about winning the Champions League. I mean, they should have enough to get through the group, but in the knockout stages against the Real Madrids and all these boys, they will be laughing at Liverpool.”

Liverpool plays in Group E alongside Spartak Moscow, NK Maribor and Sevilla.

Liverpool will be travelling to Moscow to play against Spartak on September 26.
