CAIRO – 14 September 2017: AS Roma striker Edin Dzeko revealed that he and his teammates miss the creativity of their former teammate, Mohamed Salah, who joined Liverpool this summer.
The game against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday was their first match in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, which ended in a 0-0 draw. Roma players were lucky to walk away with a point after a poor performance, which made Dzeko criticize his team’s tactics.
“I didn’t touch the ball many times tonight. Hopefully, in the next few games, I can touch the ball more often, so I can score some goals,” Džeko said.
“We miss Mohamed Salah and also Totti, while Radja Nainggolan played closer to me last season. Now they are all a little more distant from me than they were before, but we’re getting used to it. Hopefully, we’ll improve by time,” he added.
The Egypt international player completed a summer transfer to Anfield, England, from Roma on a five-year deal.
