CAIRO – 12 September 2017: The Champions League starts on Tuesday 12 September 12, whereby each team will battle to lifts the trophy in the final in Kiev on May 26, 2018.

Real Madrid are the champions of three out of the last four editions. They will have more competition than any of the other team indefending their title. Zidane, Real Madrid`s coach, has strengthen his team with four players who will befeature as substitutes for the regular players. Theo Hernandez, Dani Ceballos, Jesus Vallejo and Marcos Llorente are keen to help their team earn the 2017-2018 trophy.

On the other hand, Barcelona needs to get back to the field of Champions League playing to win the title. After Neymar left the team, many there was muchcriticisms from Barcelona`s board because they did not strengthen the squad with important players.

The young Frenchman, Ousmane Dembele transferred from Borussia Dortmund, is a willing exception to help the club in competitions this year. Deulofeu, Paulinho and Nelson Semedo, have the same dream of lifting the 6th title for Barcelona, alongside the experienced Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, Gerard Pique, and Lionel Messi.

Almost all eyes will be on Paris and the European premiere of the magical MCN (Kylian Mbappe-Edinson Cavani-NeymarJr). Neymar and Mbappe have joined Paris Saint-German this summer from Barcelona. Monaco respectively also joined to help the club achieve its dream of lifting the first title in Paris`s history.

Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich have been true contenders for the title in recent years. Atletico has reached two finals and one semi-final in the last 4 years, but all of them were lost against Real Madrid. Bayern with the experienced Carlo Ancelotti has struggled in the last few years after they won the title in 2013 against their neighbor, Borussia Dortmund.

For the first time, five Premier league clubs will participate in the Champions League group stages. Chelsea, the champions of the premier league, Manchester City, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United, are going to fight in this race to prove that the English teams can win the Champions League again.

The last English team to reach the final was Chelsea, when they famously beat Bayern Munich on penalties in 2012. Chelsea has four players who won the titlepreviously, David Luiz, Gary Cahill, Pedro and Alvaro Morata. Morata was a late sub when Real Madrid beat Juventus in May.

Michael Carrick can instruct his teamon how to win the Champions League because he won the title in Moscow in 2008. Juan Mata was part of Chelsea's successful team 4 years later.

Manchester City have never reached a Champions League final but three of their players have won the trophy; Yaya Toure, Claudio Bravo with Barcelona, and Danilo.Danilo was a substitute for Real Madrid in 2016.

Spanish clubs have accumulated the highest number of victories (17 wins), followed by England and Italy (12 wins apiece). The competition has been won by 22 different clubs.
